Welcome to the Clare County Road Commission website

Our goal is to maintain the county’s roads year round in a condition reasonably safe and convenient for travel. If you come across an unsafe condition such as a stop sign knocked down, a tree blown across a road, or other condition requiring immediate attention, report it to us at (989)539-2151, or during non-business hours to the Clare County Sheriff’s Office at (989)539-7166.

This website is intended to provide you with information common to our operations, but please do not hesitate to call us at (989) 539-2151 if you cannot find what you’re looking for and a friendly voice will be glad to help. We are located at 3900 E. Mannsiding Rd., - 5 miles south of Harrison at the Mannsiding Road/Lake George Exit off US-127, in case you need to visit our office.

Adopt-A-Highway

As a courtesy to Michigan Dept. of Transportation, the Clare County Road Commission has bags and vests available for pick-up at our office located at 3900 East Mannsiding Road, Harrison, MI. Once you have completed your pick-up, please try to stack your bags in a central area and notify the road commission of the number of bags you have and where they are located.

TEMPORARY MEETING CHANGE – TELECONFERENCE/CHAT:

Due to a COVID-19, and social distancing directives from the CDC and Governor Gretchen Whitmer, the regular scheduled board meeting will be held via teleconference/chat on the “youtube”; Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.  Members of the Public are welcome to join the meeting and express questions, concerns or comments during the “Public Comment” portion of the meeting.
Beyond the public comment portion of the meeting, members of the Public can listen to the remainder of the scheduled meeting.
